Feeding the hungry, helping the hurting, reaching the lost and preaching the gospel to the poor.
God sent us Esquipulas with an integral vision, which the Bible explains in Luke 4:18-19 NKJV “The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.”.
Our vision here is to break the cycle of extreme poverty. God gave us strategies that consist of breaking that curse with four essential elements:
John 8:32 says, “For it is written and you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.”
In addition to teaching them a trade, we also create microenterprises that can generate economic resources. They can carry out small self-management ventures.
In this way, we help them contribute to an integral improvement in their homes. Jesus – Education – Training and Opportunities.
Pastor José Alvarez has called this place “an industry without a chimney,”, because in a garage of a house that was under construction the Kitchen of Love was born. Who would have thought that today it would become an international Oopsie, movement? That day we started with 2 children and 19 indigent men and today God allows us to minister to thousands of families.
Our beginnings were very difficult and painful, but over time we have seen that it has been worth it. We have grown, have experienced the grace of God, our wings have spread and from that place God has allowed us to fly to different places and bless to multitudes of families in different regions and countries. To God be the glory for the Kitchen of Love!
ICCEF (Evangelical Christian Fellowship Church of Faith)
The Kitchen of Love Ministry strongly supports the ministerial fellowship of pastors and leaders. ICCEF’s vision is to equip and motivate them to be faithful devoted followers of Jesus Christ through conferences and evangelistic events in their communities. Many of them work in rural areas of extreme poverty. The fellowship promotes fundamental values of unity, loyalty and faithfulness to God, and to their calling.
Annually we have the participation of international speakers who love to bless the work of God in Guatemala. In Matthew 25:35-46, the Bible says: “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you took me in, I was naked and you covered me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.”
In prison there are men and women deprived of freedom with a hunger for justice, a thirst for a word of hope, naked in their shame, sick in their soul. The Kitchen of Love longs to reach all those men and women who have been marginalized by society due to their mistakes, sins and bad decisions, revealing to them that in Jesus there is freedom. The Bible says “Whoever the Son sets free, he will be completely free.”
